Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 April 2026
The Crypto Swipe File ("we", "us", "our") is operated by The Crypto Intern. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website at thecryptointern.com and the Crypto Swipe File web application (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, and what rights you have.
1. Data We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you sign in with a social provider (e.g. Google), the profile name and avatar URL returned by that provider. We do not store passwords ourselves — authentication is handled by Supabase Auth.
Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive from Stripe your customer ID, subscription status, and the last four digits of your card for display purposes.
Usage data
We record how you interact with the Service — pages visited, swipes, favourites, collections, searches, and similar actions — so we can improve the product and personalise your experience. We also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and referring URL.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (with IP anonymisation enabled) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can opt out via the cookie consent banner or by using a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics.
Emails
We send transactional and lifecycle emails (welcome, tips, trial reminders, digest) via Resend. We track whether emails are delivered and opened so we can troubleshoot delivery issues. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time using the link in each email.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send you account-related and marketing communications
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Processors
We share data only with the service providers necessary to run the Service:
- Supabase — database hosting and authentication (EU region)
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — application hosting and edge delivery
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics
- Notion — blog content management (no user data is sent to Notion)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (theme, cookie consent). Google Analytics sets its own cookies for traffic analysis — these are only loaded after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner. No advertising cookies are used.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g. billing records for tax purposes, which are kept for up to 7 years).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at intern@thecryptointern.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database connections, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data you entrust to us.
8. International Transfers
Our infrastructure providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's adequacy certifications.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
11. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data, email us at intern@thecryptointern.com.
